Question Brake Problems

When I am slowing down to a stop the brake pedal will sometimes start to pump and make a noise. I just press down harder on the pedal and the car still stops, but the whole thing does not seem healthy. I got new pads, and the whole system flushed a few months ago, but this did nothing except now the brake pedal makes a squeeky noise as well when i push down. Anybody have any ideas on this?

The pulsing could be the ABS, If this happens right B4 the truck stops could be a bad front wheel bearing.
Pull the ABS fuse, which will disable the ABS and then see if it stops the funny feeling.
I it does you probally have a bad front wheel bearing.

I have the same problem with my 00 tahoe. I pulled the fuse today and the abs pumping/noise not present when coming to a stop. What does this mean? Did you find the source of your problem?--Dave

It's a bad front wheel bearing assembly $$$. I just left the fuse out, which disabled the ABS. Then is was back to good ole' pre abs brakes, just pump um!

Update--I was having the same problem with my brakes. On saturday I jacked the truck up and found out that the left front wheel hub sounded noiser than the right one. I replaced the hub and cleaned the sensor on the right side hub. Put it back together and the ABS problem was gone! Very easy job! This forum helped point me in the right direction!!
