Re: saab 2.0L turbo in 97 cavalier z24?
You can put any motor in any car if you'd like. It's a matter of how much work you're willing to put into it. However, for direct purposes, no way it will just be a bolt in, wire up, and drive sort of deal.

Nope, runs solid as can be with 100,000 on the clock. I've only had her for the past 5,000 miles, though.
Still pulls like a bat out of hell. I think you're just cursed, buddy. Eithere that, or you tried going hard on a new motor which would fuck it up. You gotta go easy for the first few thousand miles.

Re: saab 2.0L turbo in 97 cavalier z24?
saab often uses ecotec-derived motors...except they turbo their cars.
so, they're faster and more reliable motor. Good enough reason for me. BTW, Saab=GM Chevy=GM. It's possible, just not easily done.

Yea i realized they were made by gm. just didn't understand why one would spend the money to put a saab motor in a car cause it has a stock turbo. you knwo what i mean. If your motor is crapping out then pull it man. you can find another motor for a decent price. Probably alot cheaper than the saab motor.

Re: saab 2.0L turbo in 97 cavalier z24?
True, but Saab builds the motors for boost from the factory. If this guy was considering boost down the road, then a pre-boosted motor would be the way to go as increasing the boost on a car designed for boost is a lot safer than increasing the boost on a N/A vehicle.
