Stalling :(

Hey guys. I own a 96 Blazer. Im having spurratic stalls. Somedays it starts and runs with no problems. Other days it will start, I put it in drive then it stalls. The last time this happened I tried turning it over and nothing... no click when turning the key. Waited a few minutes then it fired up. After I get it going I have to drive with the foot on the brake and gas to keep the idle up or it will stall. I watched the voltage, and it slowly starts to drop, then dead. When I do get it started it will stay idle, as soon as I put it in drive it dies again unless keeping the gas pedal on.

When it stalls out, it doesnt seem to chug or slowly stall, just dies. I have done a search and have seen quite a few of these problems, but none seems to have found the solution.

From what I have seen it could be... Ignition Switch, Fuel pump-filter, alternator. I dont want to fork out a wad of $$ though just trouble shooting.

Seems odd though that it wont stall has long as I keep the gas pedal down a bit.

With the 4.3L in your 96, the EGR is located just under the air intake duct and just behind the drivebelt tensioner. You are gonna need an universal socket to remove it. Make sure you replace the old gasket with a new one.
