Fuel Delivery Questions
I just bought my eclipse three days ago, and the guy I bought it from said that the only thing he had not upgraded yet since getting the new turbo was a higher flowing fuel pump and new o2 housing for the turbo. I'm just curious, will running the stock fuel pump at 14 lbs of boost wear it out any faster? Once I save up a bit of money I will buy a new fuel pump, but for now I don't exactly have a lot of money. Also, do I needed an upgraded fuel rail and fuel regulator as well?
Another question...the guy I bought my car from had a set of lowering springs too, he took them off though because he said the ride quality was terrible. Can I put the lowering springs back on without any bad side effects to the actual car? Will it destroy the stock shocks, or should they be okay? And is it bad on any other part of the car to run lowering springs without new shocks? Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
I don't think it will wear out any faster. As for a new fuel pump you have a 20g so I would probly go with a walbro 255.About 100 bucks with the install kit. With a 255 you need a afpr(adjustable fuel presssure regulator). Your fuel rail should be fine. I would be weary of running 14 pounds on a 20g with a stock fuel pump.
For a place to get some cheapparts. dsmtrader.com(lots of crooks I hear) and the classifieds on dsmtuners.com

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
14 might be ok. You probly want to rewire your fuel pump for a little extra.

So it won't hurt anything running a stock pump, it just won't run as well as it should?

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
It will only hurt your car if you try to out draw the pump. Beacause if you try to out draw it you will be runnign lean like a whore.

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
get the walbro 255hp with rewire kit. it sounds like you might have the SBR basted turbo. stelthy.
you already have the safc2 and injectors so you should be good "After" you buy an Aeremotive AFPR to compensate for the extra GPH of fuel being pushed into the regulator. iv'e heard that 550's can produce 90% + IDC on 20g turbos. i've been led to believe that 660 are the minumum you should run on that turbo. sounds like a nice car. how much did you pick it up for.?? <Edit> you better buy a logging device so you can get things dialed in.

AFPR stands for aftermarket fuel pump regulator? Sorry, I'm new to the car tuning scene
So I should upgrade to some 660cc's then? Quote:

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
AFPR is adjustable fuel pressure regulator. And for logging Device most of the time they are talking about a Pocket logger(google it). It hooks into your OB2 and logs all your engine's info.

Re: Fuel Delivery Questions
The 2g pump is a bit bigger than the 1g, it should be fine at 14 pounds on any turbo. But I would still highly suggest to upgrade it of course. I thought a 190 might be enough, but looking at my spreadsheet I use, it looks like a 255 is required. If you can afford to do the AFPR setup, by all means, go for it. Better to be safe than sorry my mom always said...
![]() Pocketlogger (.com) is fairly popular with the 2g crowd. Runs on a cheap palm device.

Lowering springs have higher rates, they'll destroy stock shocks. Lowering springs will also adversly effect tire wear due to toe changes. That means get an alignment done after you change the springs.
