Location of "open door" module

ALL my door/trunk/brake warning lights come on for the first few miles of driving, then fade out (rather than going off suddenly). I figured I'd start with the module (I assume there IS a module?) that controls those LEDs, but I have no idea where it is. Anyone know?

I never even heard of such a thing, but my suggestion to you would be to take out the dash and make sure the plugs are on tightly, I got the oil light on once after I put in my euro dash cause I didnt "snap" the plug into place.Hope it works.

take out the dash
That's what I was kind-of hoping not to have to do.

Re: Location of "open door" module

On a GM, it's the same module as the door chime. Follow the sound.

Maybe Honda is different.

Seems like you had another issue with something in the dash, and I asked you if you had water entering the car around the windshield, you said yoiu did not. Am I remembering right?

The way that warning is malfunctioning sound oddly similar to how a turn signal indicator will glow dimly when the signal is off when you have ground loop feedback in the circuit.

Usually temperature affects it too. I'd be trying to find any straps or ground wires to the dash that might be bad.

No, that wasn't me. I DID post this problem a while ago, but the symptoms have changed, so I thought I'd give it another shot. If water's getting in around the windshield (and I DID have that happen with another Accord), then I see no evidence (damp carpets etc) of it in the cabin. Also, I'd then expect the symptom to change in some way depending whether it's wet or dry (in Florida we go days/weeks with no rain but plenty of sun, so the car gets to dry out big-time)

I would be inclinded to blame a ground, except that I would expect the lights to flicker, say, when I go over a bump. But that doesn't happen.

I can try the door chime approach (it's a "beep" in the Accord) but I'd be amazed if Honda implemented it the same way as GM.

I keep hoping we have a real expert Honda auto electrician in the group, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
