Fast ticking sound from s/c???

Yesterday I had my hood open while the car was running and I heard a Fast ticking sound coming from the supercharger or somewhere very near it. Any ideas.

I don't know why this is, but when the MAF sensor went out on the 92 bonneville it would do the same thing. When the engine quit the ticking would continue for a while then stop. Your MAF may be going bad? just a thought. The bonneville wasn't supercharged though.

I guess i sort of retract my previous statement. I was under the hood of my 97 GTP and it had a similar ticking to what you described. Don't know what it is though. Oh well, time will tell. Although yours could still be the maf, maybe?

Most of the time (about 99%) it's the coupler that goes bad in the supercharger that goes bad.
Here's the part. At the bottom of the page, is the "how to",

Good luck

my coupler is bad, but that is more of a knocking sound, not a ticking. Think of it as a loud clock running fast, really really fast.
