Re: which gas company is good?

I was running 93 or 94 octane all the time, but Honda recommends 89 for my bike. On top of that some of the folks over on www.vfrdiscussion.com did some research only to find that my bike (VFR) actually runs better with the 89 as opposed to the 93+.

So... 89 octane it is.

Re: which gas company is good?

Different octanes are available depending on the needs of most vehicles at a certain "climate", for lack of a better term. I think in Denver (HIGH altitude) they have higher octanes than here, IIRC.

Locally, we have 87 as "regular unleaded", 89 as "plus" or something like that and 93 as "super" or something like that. Sunoco sometimes has 94 as "ultra" or something like that. Those are the most common... unless you feel like going out to the airport to buy AVgas

Re: which gas company is good?

Yeah, when I was out west I saw 86 octane. With the lack of oxygen in the air (compared to the lower altitude) you didn't need the higher octane to run as efficiently.

Re: which gas company is good?

My bad. I had a 50/50 shot, and I lost. I've never been out there, so it was a guess, and a bad one at that!

Re: which gas company is good?

It dosent matter which company you use. Make sure that it is a major chain (Less likley to get dirty gas). and please make sure that it relys on US oil.
