Another pic. Grey F1 in Japan

Hey guys,

Found another quality pic of a grey F1, in Japan. Located at luxurious car dealer Miyaoka at the time the picture was taken.
At their website www.miyaoka.info it doesn't say anything.
Google lists a page for it, but it's gone and even the cache is empty.

Hope you guys haven't seen it yet. It might not be a very exciting picture, it's a clear and qualitative one, so I hope you like it.

I've quickly browsed earlier posts, but couldn't directly find anything about the # no.'s of F1's in Japan.
Which one would this be? Is the one in Singapore still there? Maybe it moved to Japan?

Anyway, here's the photo:

cheers,
Bucciali

I've seen evidence of 8 McLarens in Japan - (two silver, 1 black, 1 black/grey, 1 yellow, 1 white, 1 LM, 1 GT). There may be more than that of course, but that's how many I have recent photographic proof of.

I'd have to guess that this is #070 that was seen at the Matsuda Museum breakfast meeting a little over a year ago. If we could see the interior it might be possible to add some confirmation to that guess. The only other silver F1 that I have seen in Japan has the red stripe on the ventline of the door, which is clearly missing in this shot. It's also possible that there are two (or more) plain silver F1s, but I haven't seen evidence of that.

The shot is new for me though and a good one - I only wish there were more to help with the ID process. Thanks for sharing!

MiniM, i didn't get the pic from the dealer's website though. So, then, there should be 2 dealer pictures we haven't seen yet.

Found it through google on a car 'enthousiasts' page, by looking for large ferrari pictures. He also has a picture of an F50 with more cars in the back and a price tag on the site, which leads me to assume the photo was indeed taken at the dealer Miyaoka at some stage.

Here's the google listing where it's in:

Maybe someone can ask the owner of this website in his best japanese where and when this photo was taken.

You're welcome!

The LM, is that the orange one (only 2 blacks right? said to be with Sultan) on the photos of a car collection, that a.o. has a yellow F50, a Porsche GT1 and Merc CLK-GTR?

Well the Japanese LM is in a collection that has a yellow F50, but I have never seen evidence of either a CLK-GTR or a 911 GT1 there. I think you might be confusing the collection from Sweden and shots of the orange GTR #11R, as the owner of that car did/does have a CLK GTR and a 911 GT1, but no yellow F50 that I recall.

The LM in Japan sits next to the F1 GT in a museum that is open to the public, but doesn't really allow photos to be taken inside. Some shots have snuck out and here are two examples. You can see that yellow F50 and the tip of the wing on a red F40 in the background of the LM shot. This collection also contains a silver Enzo now as well, along with other rather noteworthy cars. They are not Matsudas or Okamotos either, as both have previously been speculated.

I have finally learned the exact location of these two cars within the past few weeks. I had the address before, but not the name of the museum they are located in. My earlier speculation that the cars and their owner have some connection to Toyota proved to be true so that makes me happy. I'm working now to secure the info on the owner.

Ideally I am hoping to learn the chassis number of the LM as well at some point - it is either LM2 or LM5. I go back and forth trying to rationalize which one is more logical. I suspect the Brunei Royal Family got LM5 - the last one - making this LM2, but can't be certain of course. Hopefully someday I'll have a solid answer on that instead of just speculation.

I should have thought of this sooner. I'll go home tonight and look through my F50 registry for yellow F50's in Japan and see who the owner is. There aren't many yellow F50's and Matsuda has sold his.

I will let you know what shows up

Just had a quick e-mail conversation with the owner of the website of the mentioned picture. In my best English :-)
And he confirmed it was taken at the dealer Miyaoka, around 2,3 years ago. He remembered the price being 168 million Yen, or roughly 1,55 mio USD.

Peloton, you're right, I was mixing up my memories of various collections.

Hope you can find out about the owner of the LM & GT.

There were originally two F1s that were painted white. I assume the car in Japan is one of these two:

031 1995, 27th car built, Special White

053 1995, 35th car built, White

If I had to guess, I would say that the white car in Japan is the first on the list, as the few photos I have seen of the car show it to be an off white, almost cream or ivory color. The other more common white F1 photos released from McLaren show a very pure flat white colored car.

I thought I had one of those non-Japan white F1 photos hosted to share, but it doesn't appear that I do. If someone else has the photos handy and can share that would be great.

Re: Another pic. Grey F1 in Japan

Do the names Shota Yonemushi or Yasui ring a bell for anyone? I have 4 other yellow F50's that may be in Japan but none have info on the owners
