why the hell is this happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i rescently bought a '95 geo metro because for one im broke and two i need basic transportation. i have read that this car grants me great milage and transportion along with the limo style luxury ahaha jk.

i have had it for 4 months and jus yesterday it began to become fucked up. for one gallon it went 9 miles and that was in kansas city where i live and it was on smooth roads to my moms house. 9 freaking miles on one gallon is crazy. i couldve gotten more than that on a ford pickup god dammit!

can someone tell me what i need to make it have better miles and i cant afford to go to a mechanic because i am livin with some roomates and i work as wendys so the upkeep isnt donald trump style.

i cant do anything as i think to make it much smaller. the things is tiny as hell and my buddie have looked at the thing and the engine is great and tires and carborator is good. i dont know what to do!

tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is the check-engine light on?
Recent compression check?
Are your brake calipers dragging?
AT or 5-speed?
3 or 4 cylinder?
Clean air/fuel/oil filter?

Your fuel injector resistor could be bad. If you can get a fuel/air ratio gauge, see if it's running really rich. Also, check the repair manual about the resistor and how to check it. For all it's worth, it's a geo, and the gas gauge could be being dumb, lol.

Hello, many things can cause bad gas miles.

1. Check your tire pressure
2. Hit a curb? check front end alignment
3. Sombody steeling your gas at night/work ($9 locking gas cap auto zone)
4. Draging E break
5. Dead bodie/bodies in the trunk (the heavyer the body the worse mils)
6. Falty O2 sensor
7. AC is on and you don't know it.
8. Dirty Air cleaner/ check for nests in tube/air box
9. Dirty/bad distrib cap and rotor, fine grit sand paper on the metal conectors inside the cap and on the rotor curved end, only 2 screws hold it on.
10. Bad wires, do this with your hood open find a dark area at night and pop the hood and start your car, if you see small arks of light your wires are bad. another was is to hold the wires in your hand till you feel a shock.
11. Bad plugs, you can also clean them with fine sandpaper.
12.wheel bearings
13. wrong size tieres on the car, check this!
14.check your coolent level after the car has cooled down all the way, or check this before you drive the car.
15. Low oil, or old oil, this is no joke.
16. Check that the clutch is going all the way out by pushing the clutch in and seeing it it rolls free.
17. The timeing belt is about to go, if it does it will leave you where it broke, and most likely eat your valves.
18. rounded cam, dew to bad oil or old oil.

I hope this helped.

Fuel line leak? Are the guys at Wendy's draining the gas on you as a gag? I am in Olathe, if you can't figure it out, email me at [email protected] and we can meet up and I can take a look at it.

Cryboy.. alfter you are sure there are no dead bodies inside the trunk.. you could consider checking:
AIT Sensor (tells the ECU how cold is the air, so it regulates the gas quantity for a good mix)
PCV Valve.. which goes in the top. Is around $5 anywhere. This one is intended for create a gas recirculation cycle to prevent high toxic non-atmospheric-good emanations.
EGR Valve.. this one is a hard one because you have to unscrew this valve (located pretty much under/beside the carburator body)
Catalyc converter in your exhaust system.

You can use pics at this site http://www.rockauto.com/ to get yourself some help locating some parts.

Good Luck buddy.
