Question oil smell

Hello, i have been smelling oil lately when i start up and drive. After a while ( maybe 5 min) the smell goes away. Does anyone know what the problem could be. I have a 94 Bravada w/93,000 miles on it..Thanks

Re: oil smell

The valve covers might be leaking a tiny bit and oil is getting on the exhaust ports and manifold. A new valve cover gasket should take care of it.

Re: oil smell

Any smoke out the back at start-up? It might be valve seals.
