Anyone have a favorite cleaner or protectant that they use on their convertible tops?

my lid is black canvas so when i want to clean it i hit it with the hose breifly and then rub it down with a soft leather sham making long even strokes and applying even pressure. I have a bottle of convertible cleaner, but it looks like too much work and what i do keeps it black as new.

That is about what I am doing now. I thought there might be something out there that would actually prolong the life of it. I guess that would be called a garage. Thanks for the info.
