Blasting car stereo's

Was there ever a time when someone pulled up next to you blasting the sh!t out of their car stereo and you thought to yourself "Cool, I want to hear more" or "Wow,this person sure has impressed me"?
That's right, NEVER. So why do they think we all want to hear the crap they consider music. We don't. The same goes for when your at the car wash. It's actually kind of funny when you can hear their body bolts and trim rattling loose, but it's certainly never impressive.

I was down at the Jersey Shore this weekend... Cruising along the street were these 3 (could have not been much older than 16) in an old subaru station wagon... Blasting no other than... The Backstreet Boys...
Full Volume...
Full Distortion...

If you are going to crank it... make it music worthy of the volume!

I like to listen to my music loud sometimes. I sometimes turn it down at lights, but other that, it's only a minute or two, it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

I like listening to music loud, especially if you got a system, use it! I dont do it to be cool, i do it cause it sounds better loud, and you can feel the bass. I'm not gunna turn it down cause somebody i dont know at a stop light doesnt like my music lol

Re: Blasting car stereo's

There's a difference between having your music loud so you can hear it good, and blasting the car next to you with 100Db. The other day I'm in my soft top Jeep and this guy comes right up on our ass. Our entire vehicle was shaking with the bass.

If you're going to blast your music, at least be considerate. Never liked overly loud music.

Re: Blasting car stereo's

there's a fine line. And you SHOULD be respectful of those around you. I used to listen to my music loud but I'd ALWAYS turn it down at lights. I felt horrible not turning it down. It's a disturbance to everyone around you, and there you are... a little pink blob behind the wheel, holding one arm up at the 12:00 bobbing your head back and forth with this dumbass "I wanna be cool too, guys" scowl across your face, making SURE not to look at the other drivers, who are all giving you this "what a fucking asshole" look. I love hearing deep bass that's crisp and doesn't rattle a thing, but pushing it full volume so everyone within a two block radius can hear what you're forcing down their ear drums is just rude. Plain and Simple. If you don't learn to respect the people you share the road with every single day, you need to get some wisdom.

So true. I like to hear my music loud a ttimes, so long as there is no one else in the car with me to complain about it or at a stop light. But if I am on the highway I sometimes put it a bit loud. But I agree with the originator of this thread that at having it too too loud especially at a stop light with others around you or in a residential neighborhood is just plain rude.

But you know what really bothers me, is not so much that they play loud music, its that they play the loud music in those whimpy speakers that really distort the music and make it sound horrible.

Re: Blasting car stereo's

To the thread starter........get over it.

Louder is starting to become standard in newer cars.
I sure as hell love to feel bass, hear bass and have bass.

Question is, are you a decent guy about it, or rude about it? That's the difference most of us are talking about.

I like when there is a car right next to me at a red light knocking like hell, hitting so hard its making your car shake. I just love bass. I don't turn mine down at a red light but when I'm pulling into a parking lot at store I will turn it down to a decent level so that everyone can't hear what I'm listening to. Or when I'm at a red light and there are kids In a car next to me I will turn it down so they don't here any thing that ther shouldn't.

Re: Blasting car stereo's

Yes I am respectful with it unless I don't give a fuck. Fridays/Saturday nights I don't care much. But during the week, I Just save up for the weekend. Sundays I dont play at all. Some days I turn it down slightly because I know that the bass it still going to carry. Even at 25% volume. I know the difference between being obnoxious and being innocently accused.

Hey thread starter, you should start up a topic called why I hate people with rims also. ".......Here I am at a red light and they are just there shining in my face....I think to myself, does this person think I care? I mean they are big! ...................."

At every greenlight on a HILL some guy with a exhaust system presses on the gas and it is so loud.
