Talking Hks Ssq Bov!

Ok i just bought a 2005 Subaru WRX STi in Febuary and stored it for almost a month until the weather got warmer. I took it out when it got warmer, and then i missed the psssssssssshhhhhhhhtttt sound from the blowoff valve that i used to have on my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. I then ordered the HKS Super Sequential BOV, does anyone know how that blowoff valve sounds like? Well on my GSX, i had a Greddy Type-S BOV, but it was venting out. Boy i love that sound, got lots of people shivering when they heard it, especially them americans that didn't know anything about turbo cars. (NO OFFENSE to ya'll americans ) anyways, that BOV sounds so nice... So what about the HKS Super Sequential BOV, what does it sound like?

Kinda sounds like a chirping bird to me, definately a nice sounding BOV though

BUT I oppose to you putting it on your car, you will run rich in between shifts and in turn causing your turbo to spool a bit slower...just keep your stock BOV on and take the silencer out of your airbox if you want to hear it, if you HAVE to get an aftermarket BOV get one and set it to 100% recirc.

Ok, what about running rich? Is running rich means you can smell a little bit of fuel coming out of the BOV? LOL it might be strange but i had an aftermarket BOV on my 1998 Eclipse GSX, when i rev it, you can hear the BOV, but after a few seconds you can smell a very sweet smell, LOL cotton candy LOL! aahha is that wierd of what? or is that running rich?

SO you run rich for a second, you wont smell it and it doesn't hurt anything. As long as you have a cat.
I have that BOV on my WRX, I love the sound. A VERY loud whistling sound between shifts at high RPM's.

Re: Hks Ssq Bov!

A full atmosphere venting BOV on a WRX is such a waste of money.

Go get a Honda for your BOV.
