turbod d16 or all motor b16

ive been doing a lot of research on both motors and i can't decided on what swap to do. should i go for the d16 motor with aftermarket pistons/rods and turbo it or go with a b16 motor with aftermarket goodies pistons/rods, cams/cam gears and stuff like that. the car it would be going in would be my 91' hatch and i would be swaping out the slow d15b8 motor with duel point fuel injection and 4spd tranny. would also be swaping a 5spd tranny as well.

Re: turbod d16 or all motor b16

NA B16, if you build it Properly later all you need to do is swap the pistons and get a turbo kit. the B-series trannys are much stonger than the D-series. the B-series also has more potential than the D. you can Rev a b16 to 9500rpm if you wanted... i would not recoment that with a D.

I am building a N/A B16 with nitrous... i might be a little biast... lol

Re: turbod d16 or all motor b16

If you want to drive it everyday, it would probably be a lot easier and less trouble to do the B16.
But a lot like Kunundrum, I'm a little biased also.

That's a badass sleeper. I don't think I'd run a civic that fast without some suspension mods though...

Re: turbod d16 or all motor b16

one let down of B series trannys is when your shiftlinkage breaks off of the tranny from hard shifting while D series trannys are securely linked. Believe me its happened to a couple friends.

Re: turbod d16 or all motor b16

if youre going to build it up, go with the B16; but if youre keeping them close to stock, turbo D

Yeah if you're willing to spend the $ to build an engine, then the D would be a waste of time (and $). It really depends on what you're willing to spend and your power goals; both current and future.

Kunundrum- good luck with your motor build up

90civicrider- good luck with your swap

91civic1.5HB- thanks for the links. yea i saw that video. thats one sick sleeper he has. thats why i want to go with the turbo D but still undecided.
