Question oil leak

I have a 97 silverado, my oil has been getting low every once in a while, where i park there is little puddles, my exaust is very oily and that seems to be where it is coming from....help? or am i just worried about nothing!

Oil in exhaust usually means its time for an overhaul--could be going past worn rings and/or valve guides--How many miles on the engine?

Check compression on all cylinders--should all be above 120 lbs and witin 5 lbs of each other
