|
having trouble water temp
i just got a phantom water temp. gauge for my car and i have no clue where the wires go... need some help cuz my stock water temp gauge is not working and i cant tell if it is too hot or too cold... any help well appreciated.. thanx

You should've just fixed the stock gauge. First, check the temp sensor which is under the distributor. Next, you should check out the guage cluster to see if it's all connected right. You're going to have to do all that anyway to install that new gauge...

everything is still intact the water temp sensor the plugins in the back of the clusters... what might be the problem??

Not sure. I had a "lazy" temp gauge for a long time with my old engine. But after seeing the wiring mess (had fan to toggle blah blah) I just figured that was the issue... I've taken my cluster apart and put it back together and everthing seems right except the gas gauge likes to stay over the F for a long time when I fill up the tank and the bulbs are a pain in the ass so I smack the cluster hood quite a bit. But other than that, everything seems to work just right. Here's a link to a manual http://www.crxpower.net/~silverkorn/...hop_Manual.pdf It's pdf so I don't know how to isolate one page. Just go to Electrical and Coolant Temp Guage to find the test.
