Power trunk release motor

Ok so does anyone have a power trunk release unit for a 93 PA hanging around ? I need one. I have taken this apart several time and it just will not work. Guess it has a blown motor. Anyone else ever have problems with this piece ? It's the part that is on the back of the rear deck, not the part that is attatched to the deck lid. Anyone know how to repair these if they are even repairable ? Where would be the best place to get one of these ?

thanks guys

Re: Power trunk release motor

You could have a bad switch that has to be made when you pull down the trunk lid. The switch is located on the trunk lid. You can jump out the switch to see if the motor will run, if not, then it may be the motor. You can find parts at a salvage yard, however if it is just a switch, it would be better to get one from a dealer new. You could do what I did and take the two bolts off of the motor cover and remove the cover then turn the armeture of the motor to run down the latch to the bottom position and close the trunk. The electric release will still work but the power closer motor will not run. Use some JB Weld around the latch rod to hold it in the down position, if not it will work it's way back up a little with vibration and time.
