Rain Water+Cai

Does rain water effect the Air filter lower to the ground or does it acctually have to be submerged in it. For example me driving in the rain will it effect the Cai or do i have to stay submerged in a deep puddel?

If you drive thru a big puddle, yes it can get sucked up and hydrolock your engine (you skeptics can say all you want, but it is a fact).

I, even though hard for me to admit, have actually blown a motor by sucking up water through a cold air intake. It was raining hard as I have ever seen it here and I was late for work. If you live somewhere where it rains a lot I would not put on a cai, shit I live in Arizona and it happened to me. Good thing was I put on the stock intake and my insurance paid for a new motor!
