MX-3 For Racing...

Hi,

I don’t know very much about the MX-3 but it’s very attractive to me and it seems like it can be had for cheap, so I was wondering, does it have very much race potential? Can it do like a 13 or 14 second ¼ mile? I don’t need anything super fast. If so, how much would it cost to get it up to this speed?

Thank you.

With a KLZE (2.5L V6 JSpec) and some bolt ons you are in the low 14s

How much do you think something like that would cost me? Low 14's would be very nice...

Re: MX-3 For Racing...

first off all the mx-3 is a girls car!!!! Next power wise is has the potential to do some low 14's but personally id go with the mx-6 or probe. The probe would be #1 choice due to the aftermarket.

what, are you, talkinabout...jsut cuz you have a probe, dosent' mean that you have to come here saying its the best. ITs an american car, and we all know american cars suck. Whats this about its got a better aftermarket? Lol...go back to the probe forum.

ANYWAY. Yes mx-3 can run a quater in low 14 is a KLZE and bolt ons like veryones said.... OR you culd get the KL-DE and turbo it, and run the same...or if you have an 4 cyl., you could swap in the B6T/BPT engine and run the same...

PRICES:
KLZE: anywere from about 800-1200 depends. 200hp
KLDE: 500 ish about 160hp. i think
B6T: 210hp maybe...1500-2000 range? i dont' know much about em...

bolt on prices: exaust 600, headers...500..intake 100ish, port/polish...not clue...you'll need a new clutch, proabalby about..600ish. Give or take a bit. Might want new plugs, new ignition, ground wires...i dunnow what else...

So to get to the low 14's your gonna need aBOUT 2500-3000 depends.

go to www.mx-3.com click forum, its a good place to learn alot, use the search.

Re: MX-3 For Racing...

Okay, thanks. How would the MX-3 compare to the:

- Mazda MX-6
- Infiniti G20
- Datsun 240Z
- Nissan 200SX SE-R?

Thank you!

Re: MX-3 For Racing...

You'd really have to try, but the whole Probe comment is hilarious because they have the same ffffin motor base as the MX3. And the MX3 is lighter and NOT AMERICAN.

The MX3 had me at hello
