Congratulations Eric, I will try to contribute in future, I will not promise because I don't like to promise something connected with time but I will try to be a part of this great project.

Glad to see reviews of mine are in there, preserved for the use of future modellers.

I'll try and write more as soon as I open up some free time. As of right now, the kits I've been researching are the Hasegawa Jota kit and the Revell SRT-10 Viper.

Re: An evolution in scale modeling web site: ScaleWiki launched!

Great work, I personally wasn't waiting for this to happen really.
But now that I ve gone on it, it surely proves to be (next to AF) one of the greater modeling tools and resources. I surely love the nicely and organised reviews section (a blow up the nose of AF's). This is really, as you so eloquently stated, the next evolution, absolutely. I m already logged in to it, and it wont' be too long till you see my reviews dropping in.

Really a breeze of fresh air in here, and absolute thanks to everybody who was involved in this site.

On a different note, will that site remain as it is (I.E. adfree, users-oriented, uncontrolled?) or what will you see and do to it to control it and change it over time, if you 've already thought of that?

Cause I for one, wouldn't like my content I add there be used to the greater good of somebody else, like for instance to get huge revenues from all-over-the-place ads.

these are some of the issues I d like to adress, and I ll start right away with the writing of a review for the ferrari scaglietti!

Hi Oliver. Thanks for great comments.

The web site currently has small ads by google. Those only pay when someone click on it and aren't very annoying. For a near future, it will stay right like that. No other ads, no popup, users-oriented like you say.

I offer more than 1Gb of server space. A domain name and 80gb of transfer by months. That has a price and it’s paid by me. Those small ads pay a little bit of that space and I'm happy that way. I have not done this site to make money. I have made this site because I had an idea, I had time and I had the money to do it. As far as the expense don’t go higher (space and bandwidth) there will be no other ads on the site. 1gb of space and 80gb of transfer is still a lot and we are very far from there.

Not sure about the uncontrolled part (I don't understand your question) but everyone can add everything they want on the site, as long as it's useful for others. Those additions will be monitored by a small team that will take a look at the site few times by weeks to ensure everything is fine. This is why you NEED to register to the site. If you do something wrong, it will be easier to know who did it, and take according action (PM him with some tips if it’s small error, or banning him if big abuse is made)

If you have any other question, just ask.

When will the website become reliable? Twice now I've tried to see it, and get the following error code:

Domain Cloaking Error
We're sorry, we had a problem with our web panel when you set up cloaking for your domain scalewiki.com!
Please go to the DreamHost Web Panel's Domain > Web area and click the [Edit] link next to scalewiki.com to re-configure cloaking.
Error: no domain
