help!
the LEFT upper and lower ball joints on my car need replacement, and i live in vermont. the roads are crap. im stuck in between a couple things and i was wondering if you guys can help me out. i have a 2.5" drop, and the camber in the front is just horrible. i bought a set of new tires a month ago, and the insides of them are just completely gone. So... i've got some serious negative camber. i was thinking about raising the car (front and back). Would that correct the camber in the front and back, if I brought the coilovers up so that the car was only lowered about 1" ?? There would still be camber out, but it wouldn't wear the tires out as bad as having it dropped close to 3"... that to me seems like the cost effective way... or would the raising of the car not do anything and would i have to invest in a camber kit? Thanks |

Re: suspension questions...
you can raise it back up alittle to fix some of the camber, but really you should get a camber kit so you dont eat more tires.
about the balljoiints, you need to replace the whole upper A arm if you want to change that balljoiint. the lower one can be beat out with a hammer, and then pressed or carefully hammered back in.

Re: suspension questions...
yeah i was eatin through tires like mad when i first dropped my car about 2.5" but then i got the camber kit and not i get more life outta my tires but it was a $20 camber kit off ebay but it helped. Besides having a real low setup isnt always the best way to go when it comes to handling, u need to set it up so that it works best for your driving needs and abilities.
