VP Racing Fuel in Grand Prix

Getting ready to take my GTP out to the dragstrip to see if I can better my 1/4 mile ET and 0 - 60 ft times. Does anyone out there have any experience with VP Racing fuel. I was considering the StreetBlaze 100 - 103 or possibly C10. Another thought I had was blending it with 91 octane premium unleaded. Any suggestions for a proper formula or mix ratio.

Thrasher CAI, DHP v1.0 ECU, Granatelli CAI Tuneable MAF,
3.4 SC pulley, Hi-Flow CAT, u-bend delete, 180 TS,
TB spacer, MSD 8.5mm wires, AC Delco 41-932 spark plugs,
Goodyear Gatorback Serp. & SC Belt
ET: 14.3 @ 96 mph

Re: VP Racing Fuel in Grand Prix

If 91 is the highest octane you can get at the pump, and your seeing KR, then I would get to the track on E and run straight "o2 sensor safe" race gas. Make sure and not run leaded gas unless you plan on replacing o2 sensors later.

If by a miracle you see no KR on 91 octane then adding race gas will do nothing for you.

Also, if 91 is the highest then you might want to look into a water injection system to help combat kr on a daily basis.

Thanks for the reply Ripn12s. I forgot to mention I took delivery of a 3.25 SC pulley last week and plan on running it. So I'll probably have to run the VP stuff, most likely C10. Its made for unleaded vehicles and its in abundance in my area at a reasonable cost. Here are the specs:

C10
The best non-oxygenated unleaded racing gasoline available. It meets ASTM D-439 standard specifications for automotive gasoline and is street-legal in most states. C10 does not contain any metal compounds and will not harm catalytic converters or oxygen sensors. Used by national champions in SCCA and IMSA stock classes.

• Color: Clear
• Motor Octane: 96
• Research Octane: 104
• R+M/2: 100

Also I'll probably have to switch over to one range colder Autolites.
Hopefully the DHP v1.0 ECU proves its worth.

Currently, I am not experiencing any KR that I know of on 91 octane. But thats all we have in my area. Plus I'm at an altitude of 4000 feet.

I've considered a water injection system for daily use but the GTP is not my primary means of daily transportation. The last year I put only 3K miles on it.

Like you suggested I'll run the fuel in the tank as close to bone dry as I can and dump in 5 gals (19 litres). Thats the smallest container it comes in.

What do you think about the VP C10?

Hey Wylie, what's up. How are you? How's the weather up North? We just got out of our heatwave (100+) and back into the 90s.

I'm getting the beast prepared for a few runs next Saturday. Will be swapping out the SC pulley this week and spark plugs.

Just trying to get some feedback on the VP Racing fuel before I take the plunge. I'll keep you posted on the times. I'm shooting for a 0 - 60 ft time of approx. 2.0 seconds and hopefully break into the high 13s with a trap speed over 100 mph. My reaction time is around .4 seconds. BTW - it gets worse with old age....lol.

Got new front tires (Nitto Drag Racing) and hopefully that helps. Any suggestions? Later.

Its sounds really cool what your doing I wish I had a shop with room in it I would pick up a P and see what I could do with it.

Hi Andrew. Whats up? Good suggestion but I'd probably have to drive to your neck of the woods to get it. The best we have is Chevron or Shell 91 oct premium here. The VP Racing fuel dealer is only about 3 miles away from me on the way to the dragstrip. Later dude.
