people tell me that eclipse and talon have the same crappy engine, is it just me or does it seem like people dont like the eclipse? why dont they? what are the compare and contrasts of the eclipse and talon?

same car, almost same body...a little different styling.

i think the eclipse is just more popular but especially among tuners...so you hear about more problems and they tend to get "pimped out" in the wrong way by the wrong people.

The Eclipse's various motors aren't the most reliable motors in the world, but they're hardly pieces of crap, unless you're talking about the 90 horsepower one in the 1st gen. RS. Now THAT's a turd.

If you get an eclipse gst or gsx, youll hardly think its a peice of crap. 210hp in the 2ng gen eclipses, and crankwalk is overrated, it barely happens unless ur an idiot with how u treat your car. GSXs easily run 12s and can be put into the 11s, and u can run low 13s with about 700$ in bought used parts for either. Hardly a peice of crap

The motors themselves are pretty reliable...it's the rest of the car that isn't (trans, accessories, etc.) But yeah overall not a very reliable car.
