an interesting view of Iraq

http://portland.indymedia.org/en/2005/05/316907.shtml

This is the most liberal view I have ever seen of Iraq. According to them, we have become the bad guys...

Do they honestly think that Saddam was fair and just?

Re: an interesting view of Iraq

Don't agree with them at all. Why don't they write about what was going on before Saddam was in power? It is my opinion that these people are not worse off even with the current insurgency than they were during Sadaam (don't bring up specific cases, I'm speaking in general)

Anyone else find that to be extremely convoluted, I mean I understood what they were trying to say and everything, yet it gave me a headache, and almost all of it was bullshit

Believe it or not, some really think you are the bad guys. Are they wrong?

You can when the country breaks a cease-fire agreement (many times) and 17 U.N. resolutions.

Re: an interesting view of Iraq

Why not ask somebody who has been there? I wasnt but my brother and alot of my friends are over there right now. Im in the Air Force, and it pains me to read lies about my friends and family. I was in Afganistan, and the same shit was said about us there too. Whoever those people are they are living in a little box right next to the KKK and the unibomber.... they need help.

Re: an interesting view of Iraq

I think the story was inflammatory, to say the least.

One thing we're forgetting here, is that the collective memory of the people is short. No matter how bad Saddam was, they're still being occupied by the military forces of another country, and that's what the Iraqi people see.

I'll reiterate my point from another thread, the people of the Middle East will continue to fight and kill themselves, no matter what the political situation.
