Gas Smell Need Help

When ever i get out of the car i smell gas. when ever i turn the a/c on i smell gas. but the smell goes away after about 2 min. or so. But not when i am standing outside of the car especially if it has been run and has been sitting for say 30 min. or more i still smell it. What or where do u think it is coming from. Also there is a plug that is by the cover on top of the motor that is right behind it and i can smell gas and oil and i think it needs a new gasket for the valve cover i guess thats what that cover is. Not used to 4 cylinders sorry. By the way its my gf's car. Im just trying to make sure everything is safe. IT runs like a bat out of hell. I just wanna know why i smell gas all the damn time. I would like to know as soon as possible please. thanks

Mine smells of gas and its because the o ring on the fuel rail needs to be replaced. You can see the leak especially right after the car is turned off.
You might want to also check to see if you have any wetness around the fuel injectors. One of them might be leaking.

Re: Gas Smell Need Help

Well when she first got the car i would hear air around the plug in by the head cover and i would blow around that and i would hear it and finally it quit doing that. I still smell gas when i put my nose near the cover. I think it needs a new gasket. I put some seafoam in the gas to see if it will help with the injectors. IT runs great. I just smell gas everytime i get out of it and when i turn anything on(a/c, heat, anything to do with air moving like that). I didnt see any leaks at all. Im going to have a guy i know put it on a scanner and see if he sees anything... ANymore help is very appreciated... thanks
