Strange noise

I own a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg Edition 1.8T with a manual transmission. For the past few months, I have been getting this squeaking noise that appears to be coming from somewhere around the gearbox/center console area. The noise doesn't occur all the time, but is noticed when I abruptly get on the gas, such as when shifting through gears. The car has been well maintained and only has about 60000 km's. I'm hoping it is something minor, like a loose clamp, thats causing the noise.
