acura alarm system

My car came with a acura factory alarm when I bought it and it worked fine for 4 months and then the transmitter for the alarm just would stop working sometimes but then would work again. When this happened I just disconnected the alarm because the alarm wouldn't turn off without the transmitter. After the transmitter died on me I looked everywhere for the replacement but they say it was discountinued. Do I need a new alarm system because of a stupid transmitter.

alarm system 1991 Legend

When I unlock my car doors the alarm activates. I would like to disconnect the alarm system. Can you tell me how one can disconnect the alarm system. My Acura dealer will not do it for me.

Try to find the fuse for the alarm. Because this is a factory alarm it should have a fuse in the fuse box, hope this helps.
