Rear Sway bar
Hi just wanted to know if the 89 Honda CRX has a rear sway bar? I know for sure that it has a front one. Also, will a rear sway bar mount up to a CRX DX without modification?

Re: Rear Sway bar
if its a si i believe it does have a rear sway, i know for a fact that my 90 has one.
and about it bolting up. I've heard that some have the holes for mounting, but they are not threaded, and I've heard some dont have the holes at all. So sounds like your gonna need to do some work, but shouldnt be hard at all.

Re: Rear Sway bar
Only the si's came with sway bars, More than likely it wont bolt directly on but it wont take much to make it fit like bryan said.

Re: Re: Rear Sway bar
If the car doesnt have a stock rear sway bar then you will need Si lower control arms. The stock rear bar is tiny, I suggest a Suspension Techniques rear bar. It is much thicker and adjustable, will mount without Si control arms. The bar also mounts closer to the wheels, bolts to lower strut bolt.www.jegs.com

Re: Rear Sway bar
yeah, get the ST one or better yet a progress, not only does it not require Si rear control arms, but if the frame doesnt have threaded mounting holes, the kit comes with threaded inserts to put in the holes.

Re: Rear Sway bar
Ok... Let me make sure I have this straight. Since my car is a DX, I'll need some Si lower control arms to be able to mount the rear sway bar. Will I need any additional parts? Will I need to do any other modifications to the car to get this to work?

hes putting a rear one on there, you dont need to drill anything for a rear one. all chassis have holes for the sway bar mounts, only some of them dont have threaded ones.

Re: Rear Sway bar
found some pics on H-T.... here's a setup for a DA rear sway on DX hatch
![]() i guess you can use custom brackets(this one is made from the DA mount i think) to mount it differently than other Hondas. if you look in this pic: youll see it doesnt have the holes in the crossmember like the hondas that came with stock rear sways.

Re: Rear Sway bar
Wow! I like the DA bar. By the way, who is DA and where can I get one of those bars?

Re: Rear Sway bar
That's really interesting! Now out of curiosity, what year Integra should I look for in my local salvage yard for said sway bar?

Re: Rear Sway bar
DA would be 90-93. Might as well get the stuff to do rear disc conversion while your down there.

Re: Rear Sway bar
my 90 STD hatch had holes in that same spot and a CRX Si rear sway bar bolted up to it just like that.
my current 88 STD hatch has holes, but they arent threaded. in the same spot.
