When is Resetting the Computer Free!
When on a 1999 Mercury Cougar is resetting the computer free-of-charge? If you leave the gas cap loose, the computer check engine light goes on, and it costs $91 at Ford to reset the computer! OK, so I learned a lesson about going only to self-serve from now on! But isn't some of this resetting of computers just an 'alert' that Ford or Mercury should do free under some circumstances?

resetting the computer is as easy as disconnecting the battery for about 20 seconds.
