The elusive DPFE Sensor... where is one?
Hi yawl...
I have a 94 B4000 Xtra cab - 2wd - The check engine light is on and I've lost power - skipping/slipping. Before I run it to the transmission shop for a checkup the codes read the DPFE Sensor is gone. This little baby is on the engine top and has a part# FIAE-9J460-AA stamped on it. I thought it'd rather easy finding a replacement since Ford Rangers are really same mold of Mazda's... UH - UH - I just can't seem to get one of the sensors - in my neck of the woods. Is there anyone out there that can help me out here? George |

Re: The elusive DPFE Sensor... where is one?
are you saying you dont know where to find it or you cant get one from your local parts store? if you are checkin parts stores try the ford dealership and give them the part numberoff of the dpfe and they should be able to locate and order one for you or try napa auto parts if they have one in your area, they should be able to cross refferance to your stock part number and get one as well

DPFE sensors are for the new genaration ford ranger/mazda engines.
My son used to have a 94B3000 and it did not have a DPFE sensor for the EGR valve control operation. It does have an EGR valve controlled by the engine computer. On his 2001 4.0 liter ranger, yes it has one for the EGR control, and it always get burned out at the exhaust tap connection. He has replaced it twice already. |
