Question Least Expensive Car to get to 11's, LT1 or LS1?

Ive always loved camaros and lately ive done a lot reading about what one is faster for the price but i cant decide which one would be the least expensive to get into the 11's The LS1 or the LT1. I know they both have tons of potential but with the LT1's cheaper aftermarket and the LS1's powergain from mods, and the price of the cars themselves im not sure what one to get. Its like, with basic bolt-ons, the LS1 will be as fast as a bolt-on and boosted LT1 so with the price of the turbo/blower, the LT1 is the same price as the LS1, confusing. Im not sure.

11's is easy with either car. But not with the stock rear-end or suspension.
Stock headed cam'd LS1 cars have seen 10's. But that is a pretty crazy setup. I know a guy running 12.2's with a similar setup with 1.9 60' times. He improves on those even a little, and he is in the 11's. Stock heads, fairly stock suspension, average size cam. I have $3000 into my LS1, and could run a low-mid 12 with traction. Easily an 11 with GOOD traction.

The Ls1 is closer to the mark as it sits..but its aftermarket parts cost more.
The Lt1 is lower in power, but its aftermarket parts cost a little less... They'd end up being about the same in cost to get there except you'll pay more for an LS1 right off the bat.

Re: Least Expensive Car to get to 11's, LT1 or LS1?

If i made my own 3" or so exhaust, installed a junkyard (b14) turbo system, got cams, and heads, and any supporting mods, about how fast would each car be (LS1 & LT1 Camaros)? ▒☺■
