EVeryone says the same thing, "its growing on me." The 4g is an attempt to get back to 2g type styling. Obviously they are no going to go back 10 years and copy it. I think it looks much better in person than it does in all the pics. Joe G (12.0 second 16Ged 2g) test drove one yesterday while I was finishing up the paperwork on the EVO, seemed to like it qite a bit. The v6 version comes with something around 265 hp. The EVO is 276. The power band is obviously very different, and its wring wheel drive, but it sounds like a good time. And the rockford fosgate stock system with the subwoofer in the hatch sounds pretty solid for a stock system. The interior layout is way better than the 3g. The seats have decent side bolstering, but not quite as much as the recaros in the EVO (larger poeple will be able to drive it comfortably). The copperish color (sunset pearl I believe) has really grown on me as well. I like the black interior over the fancy two tone leather stuff, and I like the 17" wheels over the "special" 18s on the GT V6s.

Price is around 22k for a well setup 4 cylinder, or about 26 for the V6. 4k less than an EVO, which seems odd, but it is new, so the price will be high.

I still hate it. It's too "bubbley" for me. The 2g's most certainly were the sexiest of all the eclipses.

I suspect this applies to people that run slower than 14.4@101. I guess I need to go see one, because I don't like the look. Front and rear ends could use some work. On paper it sounds fine though, except for 3570lbs. Interior looks great.

Thats only 2 mph slower than the EVO, so that means it will "feel" the same as an EVO on acceleration. Remember that you dont feel ET. My car felt no faster on the 11.3 at 126 run than it did on the 12.x at 126 run. Wrong wheel drive is always a disadvantage for drag racing, but it doesnt mean it pulls any less.

Kevin pretty much summarized everything above. I heavily critisized the corporate nose and front end. When I went to the Mitsu sponsored "Mitsu Owner's Day" in Cypress, CA, they had tricked out a black GTS model for display, and in person, these new eclipses suddenly really did look a whole lot better.. I would love to drive the 3.8 ltr stick shift. I can't wait for a Spyder!!!!

Speaking of MIVEC, I saw somewhere that the 06 EVO with MIVEC makes peak power at 6500 still, but makes peak torque at 3500? Holy shit.
