Sulfur Smell-89 Le Sabre

'89 Le Sabre with 167,000. It was missing, but new (G.M.) plugs and wires fixed that .

I was getting a terrible rotten egg / sulphur smell at idle of more than say 1 minute.

Had a new catalytic converter put in, but the smell still occurs after several minutes...but not consistently.

Any ideas???

Thanks for your replys!

It isn't a constant smell, but at idle, after several minutes (and the engine has been run for under 20 minutes), the sulphur smell will come on occasionally.
