Engine problems

Thanks to all Intrigue owners. Had same problem with excessive oil consumption sine 99. Bought into a dealer in NH, they stated the 3.5 valve clearences was the reason for my excessive oil consumption. To me that was a bunch of BS. I usually go thru 1 qt per 1000. If it driven 85+mph over long ranges, I'll go thru 1.5 qts @ 1000 miles. No sign of burning. I'll take advice and have shaft seal checked out. Overall great car. Thanks

Mine is a 2000 GLS Stering edition and she has the same oil consumption problem too. She needs 2 Qt every 5,000km (or 3k miles) since I bought her at 100,000km (60k miles). There is no oil dripping at all so I could only conclude all the added oil has got burnt off in the cylinders. I would rather paying for the oil, which is cheap, than paying a lot more for someone to chase down the problem.
