95 civic won't start.
The other day I was driving my girlfriends 95 civic. I pulled up to a light, and the car died. I tried to restart it, but the engine wouldn;t run. The engine would turn over and catch like normal, but as soon as a let go of the key, the car would die. If I would turn the key to the run position the engine would turn, catch, and run as long as I held the key in the run position. As soon as i let go of the key and it returned to the normal driving position, the car would die. I tried for a few minutes and could net get the car to stay running. As i was calling for a tow, i decided to try one more time and the car worked just like normal.
The car worked like normal with no problems for 3 days, until I tried to start the car this morning. I have the same problem. the car will turn and catch as long as i am holding the key in the run position, but as soon as I let go of the key and it returns to its normal position the car dies. I have also noticed that the windows now only have power and will only operate when the key is turned all the way. As soon as the key returns to the normal running position, the power to the windows is gone. All the other power items (sunroof, radio, door locks, etc.) work like they always have. I thought the problem might be a loose fuse or corrosion in some connectors, but I checked all the fuses and most the connections and have not found anything that would cause a problem.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.
