Help with Restoration
Dad got an 87' Fiero GT about 6 months ago and over that time we have had to rebuild the engine. The only problem is that there was four of us pulling it all apart over a six month period so things have kind of been misplaced more than once.
Anyways we nearly have it complete and we are just trying to tye up a few loose ends on where things need to be. The one big problem we have right now is trying to figure out where a hose from the T-stat housing goes. We have looked at pictures of other engines on Cardomain and see theat it goes near the firewall of the car but don't know exactly where it plugs into. Anyone have any ideas or have a place I can look at for a complete Tear down of the car? Is a 87' GT so has the 2.8 v6 w/5 spd. |

Re: Help with Restoration
Haynes manuals. While not always complete, they do have some nice pictures that are usefull.
As far as your hose goes, it connects to the radiator return tube that runs under the driver's side to the front compatment. If you removed both tubes and are unsure which is which, place both on the ground next to the car. place them so the drain plugs are straight down, and closer to the rear then they are to the front. The driver's side rear hookup points up and slightly to the right, the passenger side up and slightly to the left.

Wanted to buy: 86-88 Fiero GT, 5 speed, fixer-upper. Blown motor, no motor? No problem! Rusty unibodies need not apply. 74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!! 3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L) Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
