I'm about to paint my truck with PPG Omni AU basecoat.
also using DP50 epoxy primer,2K primer surfacer (MP282). then PPG Omni AU. what I'd like to know is can the clearcoat be applyed one week after the basecoats. the over all paint will be a sour apple green with
orange flames.?

Re: 2 stage paint

No, the clearcoat cannot be applied over a basecoat paint that has sat a week. The base would need to be sanded and reapplied if it did. Max time on basecoat is usually somewhere around 24 hrs to clear. Go too ppg.com and find the auto refinish section. Then look for the tech sheet for the omni you are using. It will give you information such as time to clearcoat, application, ect, Good info to have. To extend time when doing artwork where time window will be exceded, custom painters will shoot an intercoat clear on which gives them more time.
