AutoTrans Shifting Prob

This question is prob gonna seem elementary to you guys with Trans exp.
85 Camaro, with TH700R trans. The trans shifts from 1st to 2nd when the speed gets around 30mph (I have no tac) sometimes hard some times soft but still noticable. Then shifts from 2nd to 3rd around 40-45, some times you notice that shift some times not its softer than the 1st shift.
When comming to a stop sometimes you will feel it hit hard like someone bumped your car when it down shifts to a stop.
Changed Fluid and filter same prob. I noticed a 3 wire 4 prong plug on the drivers side of the trans. I disconnected and drove and had same results.
Any ideas before I burn the tranny up?

Plug that connector back in, it is the torque converter control wiring.

try resetting the TV cable, do a search on how to do it...its easy.

LOL good point but, I did have enough sense to plug it back in already. I wouldnt drive it around with out doing so LOL but ya never know. I see it hooks to the Pressure switch solienode? If it takes gettin to 30mph to get from 1st to 2nd with or without it pluged in, is that bad?
And whats a TV cable?

Re: AutoTrans Shifting Prob

TV cable is a transmission control cable that comes up to the throttle body. Which controls certain shifting elements.

What engine do you have?

Throttle Valve cable. As mentioned, it controls your shifts and if too far out of adjustment can trash your trans.

Keep an eye on that cable, if it comes out of adjustment again soon you'll need to replace the cable. The adjustors are known to break/wear out.
