Where do I find this part?
New problem in my quest to give my Jeep new life. I thought i was swapping 2 identical 4.0 engine into my Jeep. I realized today that the new one came out of an automatic when mine is a manual. The problem I am having is that on the backside of the crank, where the pilot bearing is, there is a round bushing that fits into the backside of the crank and holds the pilot bearing in place. My old engine has it, and the new one doesnt. There isnt enough of a lip to use a puller on the bushing to remove it and i cant seem to find a new one anywhere, even tried to go through a dealer to get the part from chrysler. Does anyone know where I can find this part?

Re: Where do I find this part?
I'd try a good transmission shop.

Re: Where do I find this part?
you could remove the old one by filling the cavity behind the bearing with grease and use a shaft or punch that fits snug in the hole.
Hit the end of the shaft or punch with a big hammer and the grease will force the bearing out of the blind hole. JD |

Man's best friend....a cutting torch! Got it out with only a few minor injuries! Still works though
