Re: which bike would you pick? and why?

Well, you have to give a little more information that you have already.

First off, your experince level. Do you have any? Is this your first bike? If so, time to reconsider a few options.

What are you looking to do with the bike? Track, street, stunt? Oh, and all the 600s you listed will do pretty much the same thing. It is not as much of the bike as it is the rider when you are talking about a machine as capable as the ones you have listed.

The real question is, do you think you are that capable of a rider?

not about to flame or offend but in general to all who ask similar questions.

do you guys actually get your but on the bikes before you ask the question

no point looking at a bike that doesn't fit!!!!!!

all the bikes are so close in performance that it would take a very keen eye to pick the difference. BUT all are different in riding position.

you may find that although the ZX6r has more power at the moment, its a shit bike for you and you can make an R6 perform better for you.

do you need underseat storage? do you want a particular color? do you want to ride two-up? do you want single headlight or twin? do you want fries with that? do you want to boast to friends? do you want to do track days? do you like big macs? is there a difference in insurance for you?

Re: which bike would you pick? and why?

I chose to go with the kawi because of the extra features it had over the other 600's. Slipper clutch to keep the rear tire from locking up under hard downshifts, the wave brake rotors, the extra 37cc, the variable exhaust backflow valve, and they reworked the suspension and from what i've heard and read it's much better than the previous years. the 05's are the only models with the slipper clutch and exhaust valve

On the 636, yeah, but on the RR, they had the slipper since '03. Btw, is the digital tach easy for you to read during day time?

Re: which bike would you pick? and why?

the tach's no big problem for me, it takes a little getting used to, but i shift by ear a lot of the time anyway. just seeing the cluster in general is a pain though.

who knows... could be stereotyping, could be riding style, could be anything.

Re: which bike would you pick? and why?

I am speaking the truth though... People say things like "I am not a squid." That is all fine and good, but it does not define what they themselves mean by the term "squid." I have seen "squid" referenced as a few different things. Some people think "squids" are the people who are new to riding. Some people think that "squids" are the people who ride without helmets and / or the proper gear. Still others think that "squids" are those who ride smaller or slower or older bikes. Some people refer to those who stunt as squids.

Personally, I think that someone may not fall into any of the above categories at all but still ride like an ass and get the attention of one of our fine local law enforcement officials. If you do wheelies on public roads, if you ride at extreme speeds, if you split traffic or weave through traffic or even pass on the double yellow line, or if you are just generally a hazard on the road then you might be a “squid.” I could go on and on and on here.

I am a firm believer that there is a time and a place for certain styles of riding. Basically, if it is illegal then keep it off the public roads. There are enough people out there who ride like asses and give the rest of us a bad name I see no need to add to that general perception. If you need to do it that bad find a parking lot or take it to the track.

Yes Saturn, before you feel the need to call me out, I too tend to break the law every now and then. I am the first to admit I am guilty of speeding on the bike now and then. I think we all do. Should I do it? No. Do I do it? Yes, at times I do it. I will not stunt, pass on the double yellow, or outright knowingly commit and infraction of the vehicle code. (Yes, I remember the stop sign and I never even saw it. I am still not sure where it is. My bad!) I always signal before turning or changing lanes. I attempt to be courteous to other drivers / riders at all times. I pay attention to my surroundings. I just wish some people would realize you don't have to break the law to enjoy the sport. You can ride even at a slower pace and still enjoy it. No need to show off, no need to hit the bend labeled at 35 mph at 95 mph in the middle of the afternoon. If you have to do it, do it safely.

Okay, my rant is over now.
