Question mystery vibration

Just purchased a 2005 Taurus SEL. Beautiful car. Lots of bang for the buck. Love the Duratech engine. One small puzzler. The car has a very mild vibration at highway speeds, (60-70), when accelerating. Smooth as silk until you put your foot on the gas. And only at highway speeds. Nail it at 35 and you feel nothing until it gets to the 60 MPH mark and then only if your foot is still on the gas. Car has 1500 miles and have had the dealer check it out thoroughly. Balanced tires and test drove with tech numerous times. Until I went with on the test drive with tech. they couldn't find what I was talking about. After he said that he did feel. Maintains all is well and condition is normal. Traded in 2002 SES with Vulcan and never noticed this issue. Anyone have any ideas or am I just too sensitive and expecting too much out of this car? Vibration is mild and of a very high frequency, almost like a buzz in the seat and steering wheel. Going to live with it if nothing else. Thoughts appreciated.

when you say it doesn't do it at lower speeds, do you mean at the same RPM but lower speeds. If it's RPM related, it could be a bad idler pulley. Since you say there's a whinning noise.

You basically bought a brand new car and you have a problem and the idiot tech tells you it's the normal condition of the car. My god these guys are assholes. If they maintain that it's normal, then ask to drive another '05 SEL. If the other car doesn't exhibit what's happening to yours, then go back and tell them so. If they still refuse to fix it, I would start ruffling some feathers with the service manager. The car is practically new and completely under warranty.

If you still can't get anywhere with this dealer, try to find a local Lincoln-Mercury dealership; a lot of people have had better luck with them than Ford.

Yes, I could speculate about what the problem might be, but as far as I'm concerned, it's none of your affair what the problem is until 3 years or 36,000 miles. Until that time, it's Ford's problem, not yours.
