Re: the gmc truck

I bought mine used. I bought mine because of the price, the features, the low mileage and the looks.

The GMC is essentially the same truck with different badging.

Maybe their forum is dead because they're over here lurking?

If you want a Ford, go buy it and leave already. If you've got legitament questions about a Silverado, then ask and we'll try our best to answer.

Re: the gmc truck

Honestly, the used car dealer didn't have any GMC's on the lot. I would not have had a problem with a GMC at all. There arent as many GMC's out there to begin with, so there aren't as many used. Basically the only Difference between a GMC and a Chevy (with the same equipment) is in front of the front wheels. I did grow up with Chevy trucks, and they are very familiar to me. Like "home"

Re: the gmc truck

The GMC brand used to be very noticeable 40 years ago. GMC trucks had different models or features than did Chevy back then - a real competitive brotherhood. Today the Chevy dealers seem to focus more on trucks while the GMC dealers seem to focus more SUVs. For my specific truck - I would have taken either GMC or Chevy - but I had 3 times the number of Chevy dealers and inventory to choose from in a 125 mile radius compared to GMC. AND for my particular truck - GMC produced less than half as many as did Chevy.

Re: the gmc truck

GMC was the first to offer a v6 in a pickup, also. It was a giant by todays standards, though.

no difference other than front end and wheels and maybe a few minor things here and there. and it is true they produce less of them so they are harder to come buy.
