High Beams Stuck On

Hello All!
I have a 1998 Hyundai Accent and my high beams are stuck on. When I turn on the headlights (in normal low beam mode), the high beams automatically come on also. (meaning that the highs and the lows are on and the blue high beam light is "on" on the dash). When I click the handle to go to high beams, the low beams will turn off. When I turn off the head lights, both will go off, so it's not like they are permanently on. A friend suggested I buy a new "dimmer" switch, but it seems like I can only get this through the dealer and for $60+. Any suggestions??
