which one is better???

so i am now ready to move on to my second car.
i have narrowed my decision to two cars
the Mitsubish 95-96(maybe up to 99 if price is good) eclipse gst or gsx or the volkswagen vr6 golf 94-98.

i know that the eclipse is highly modifyable however i am only looking to acheive about 103mph trap speeds in the quarter mile (i am aware that i could still go faster in the eclipse for little money but with that i would have to upgrade many other things such as brakes). i can get that with a simple turbo kit from kinetic for the vr6. so do not compare on speed. i am leaning towards the vw cause it has a better build quality and much better bodywork. i like the eclipse because i would have more fun with it(i think).
also i think that the golf would be more reliable but i just cannot forget about the eclipse.

please help me decide

103 trap speeds, thank god there is atleast one person that is reasonable here, i think really go for the eclispe, but in my opinion, and i know its not on the list, but i would go for the DSM eclispe thats just one generation older, also this should be in car comparisons forum.

that was a typeo its 203 in the trap lol
i know that the older one has some better things but the car is a little old and rare
