Camaro SS vs Grand Prix GTP busted

i was at work earlier today and i was out in the parking lot sittin around lol....and i see way back in the lot was a 98+ camaro ss and 99 and up grand prix gtp and they were both next to each other lookin under the hood, and i was like hmmm....and then the guy gets in his camaro and when he leaves to go out to the road and steps on it, and it sounded like he had a glass pack muffler cuz it was really loud and then the gtp follows behind, sounded nice too....and then they both turn and get beside each other from about a 25 roll and then they both step on it and they were dead even for about 1/4 mile and out of nowhere a CHIP (motorcycle cop) popped out from behind a bush and turned on his lights and then i couldnt see anymore becuz they passed the building, but i wonder what happened to them lol, maybe the cop gave em a warning, cuz these guys looked like they were in their 30s-40s, but im not sure as to what mods a gtp would have to have to keep up with a camaro ss stock?

I think they are to a point but the stock supercharger on those has its limitations. After that you are in the same boat as all other cars as far as modifications. But, to mod it to match a Camaro SS is pretty far moded, even if the camaro was stock.

yeah when the camaro stepped on it, it was awesome cuz i thot oh i know who's gonna win, and i was suprised to see the gtp keep up with him, must be a sleeper, cuz it was totally stock looking

Ugh, that GTP is in the ame boat hsa the TA around here with the Wings West body kit on it...yuck.

Anyways, I dunno to much about the GTP? What do they run stock? And what the hell is a glass pack muffler. I keep hearing about those, are they differnt from any other muffler?

Glass pack mufflers use fiberglass in a few different arrangments as a sound buffer.

And that GTP is bogus. That body kit/flames belong on a honduh.

But does a glass pack offer any more performance over a regular aftermarket muffler (with appropriate piping, of course), or just a different sound, and how does the sound differ?

Those two lines confuse me. I get over 100 MPH easy in the 1/4.

I'm assuming that a stock Camaro runs high 13's (correct me if I'm wrong).

I think a GTP with a pulley upgrade, intake, exhaust, header would be able to match that. Look at Jeff's GTP sleeper, he is using the stock heads, and the stock BLOWER. He runs 11's.

A stock LS1 camaro will run low to mid 13's stock.
