1994 Regal Tranny Shift Problem

I have a 1994 Regal that has 200+ miles. I recently rebuilt the engine. While there we drained the tranny and replaced the filter for the first time. Prior to this we had no problems with the tranny. Now when the engine is cold it has a hard shift going into reverse and drive. After that there is no problems with the shifting. Any ideas?

Make sure the fluid level is correct in the transmission it may be low causing your problem. Also make sure you got the vacuum line to the modulator properly connected if not it can cause hard shifting. If both are ok you may need to remove the pan to insure the filter didn't come loose after you installed it.
