Re: crx swap to a d15b 1.5L VTEC

Well my swap was an Si and I used a P28 but heres the parts I bought:

o2 sensor (need a 4 wire if u run P28, but the 1 wire is fine if u run the P08)
clutch kit (since I used my stock tranny, I bought a 90-91 CRX Si clutch)
preOBD > OBD1 conversion kit (I bought the whole thing from rywire for $190, came with everything I needed, dizzy plugs, and even VTEC connectors and wires for VTEC, pressure switch, and 4 wire O2...)
Timing belt and water pump (92-95 Civic VX)
Cap (92-95 Civic Si), rotor, (92-95 Civic Si) and NGK plugs (ZFR6J-11) and wires (92-95 Civic Si)
MAP sensor (mine was broke that came on the swap)
I think thats most of it... But im sure Im missing some things... I personally would get the DX to D16Z6/D15B from rywire to make all the wiring as simple as possible!

BTW, your pics dont work for me...

Re: crx swap to a d15b 1.5L VTEC

Ok, looking at the pics, your gonna need a intake manifold gasket (cuz they are seperated, best to just goi ahead and replacing it now) and u have the same defliction I had with my map sensor, the black sensor on the top of the throttle body thats smashed... Mine was like $50+ from some guy on eBay from Singapore... Good news is that they are all basically the same on how they function... Tho some do have different ways on how they attach to the car... Mine was 2 screws which youts should be, thats the most common... U can probably just go down to the local junk yard and pull one... Let me know if u want the part number, its right on the top and I can get that for u... I heard u can even reuse your CRX MAP sensor, but I didnt want to ghetto anything so I just bought one... You also got lucky and got one with a VTEC pressure switch (green plug on the VTEC solenoid), mine didnt have that... Looks like your missing a bolt on the distributor... But Id say u got off easy... All my sensors were broken... Most of yours appear to visually be ok... Id pull the top of the timing cover off and inspect the timing belt... I replaced mine even tho it looked good... U may want to do the same thing... This way u know it wont snap any time soon... I also replaced the tensioner and water pump...

Oh and one more thing... Yours looks like it was an auto in its previous life (as was mine), so u may want to buy an old crusty flywheel before u swap, and take it upto a machine shop and have then resurface it... I had to wait til I pulled mine out which sucked cuz that held my swap up a day while I waited on that to get done...

If I think of anything else, Ill come back and reply... Im over half way done with my swap... I started this passed Sunday, so its still pretty fresh in my mind... Ill hopefully be finishing it up today... Atleast getting the engine in I hope...
