Wipers don't park right, bad motor?

Is it true there is no adjustment on the 2000 Silverado windshield wipers? Mine always park about 2" up from where they should, and my friend who has a 1997 says I need a new wiper motor, as there is no adjustment. Is he right or wrong?

I don't know if your friend is right or not. My guess is you should be able to. I tried to do a yahoo and google search and came up with nothing. I would suggest getting a repair manual. I suggest getting Haynes. I had one for my last truck and Haynes seems more detailed than Chilton, that's my opinion. Here is a website if you want to order one.

Hope this helps.......

Can't you just take the wipers off the posts and turn them a little bit?

Thats what I was thinking. I know that I had one of mine come loose this last winter and was parked about 2 inches higher than the other one. They just fit on a wedge but can be a bitch to get loose if they're really stuck. If the motor works at all I'd say it's O.K.

My 01 does the same thing. I don`t think you can reset the arms as they do bottom out during their cycle where they should park. When I shut mine off they bottom out at the rest then stop 2in above. I`ll live with it as long as they work. Save my money for the other parts that fail on these trucks. My diver side power window barely moves.

Mine park ok,but the drivers side wiper upper end goes off the windshield a bit when its at its furtherest point to the left. I m sure the tip is gonna wear out soon from hitting the windshield rubber seal.

I ve thought of taking off the wiper from the post and rotating it,but when the wipers are parked, they look normal. I dont think I can rotate it,dammit.

Draboo, are those the 22" blades you got on your wipers. Any longer and they'd stick off like that.

For what it's worth, I bought 2 new Michelin brand 22" blades from walmart (the whole assembly). I really like them! They were about $5.75 each.
