I currently am having problems with a surging problem, while sitting at a stop light the engine begins to surge from 1000rpm to 1700rpm back and forth for no reason this also happens when I put it in reverse. Once it is warmed up it tends to be not so bad, except for the reverse problem. Does anyone else have the same problem and if so can you help me out.

Re: 2000 Ford Expedition Surging Problem
Forgot to mention that it runs fine in neutral and park.

Well the problem got fixed, I first replaced the air idle motor which did not fix the problem, Then had the TCC replaced which worked, Runs great. Just some info for anyone that might have the same problem.

The TCC is the Torque Clutch Converter, it is located on the outside of the transmission.
