Engine Temp + AC

*First post* yay!

So I'm stuck in rush hour traffic with the engine temp starting to rise a little, no problem. Now, most people say if you ever wanted to cool off the engine, blast hot air into the car. Well, I'm not sure why, but my engine temp gauge actually drops down to normal after I turn on the AC
for a while. Any reason for this? Do I have to get my gauge checked?

Thanks for the help

Oh, didn't know that. Thanks for the info. When I googled the info, the article I read was saying how I shouldn't turn on the AC.

Thanks again.
